The gardens are the heart of Pasajcap. They connect every home to the lake through winding paths, old coffee bushes, flowering plants, and quiet places to sit. Life slows naturally here.

The gardens

Long before Pasajcap became a place to stay, this hillside was a coffee plantation. Many of the original coffee bushes still grow beneath the trees today, joined by flowering tropical plants, fruit trees, and quiet paths that wind through the property.

Every home opens onto its own garden or terrace, creating a feeling of privacy while keeping nature close. Hammocks hang beneath the trees, shaded palapas invite long conversations, and the lake is never more than a short walk away.

The lake

Lake Atitlán is part of daily life here. Mornings begin with calm water reflecting the volcanoes. Afternoons bring a gentle breeze across the lake, while evenings settle into remarkable sunsets and quiet skies.

From the swimming dock you can swim, launch a kayak or paddleboard, or simply sit with a coffee and watch fishermen cross the bay.

Birds & wildlife

The gardens are home to hummingbirds, orioles, woodpeckers, herons, butterflies, and many migratory birds throughout the year. You don’t need to go searching for wildlife—it finds you while you read in a hammock, enjoy breakfast on the terrace, or pause along one of the garden paths.

The rich biodiversity around Lake Atitlán is one of the reasons we care deeply for this land. The gardens are tended gently, allowing birds, butterflies, and native plants to thrive together.
